Bee Cake

Cute little bee cake I made for my mother's coworker who happens to have a bee colony and always gives her honey for free.  Just a little thank you on their birthday.  Love the yellow color came out really nice and of course those adorable little bees.  Too cute.  Added some gum paste flowers, both sun flowers and daisies.

Hawaiian Theme Cake

I made this cake a week or two ago for a friend of mine who was having a Hawaiian Theme Birthday part and thought it turned out pretty cute.  I made the top layer have a grass skirt with flowers around it. Yellow gum paste flowers on the top.  On the bottom it has blue waves, a surfboard and another gum paste flower.

Snicker's pie

This is a no bake recipe I found online and it was to easy to make. Oreo pie crust, thin layer of dulce De leche then chopped nuts and a layer of chopped snickers. Fill with mixture of one pack of cream cheese, one 8oz whipped cream frozen, 1/4 cup dulce De leche, one cup of powdered sugar, all mixed together and then fold in some copied snickers. Put into pie crust and then top with left over chopped peanuts, snickers and drizzle dulce De leche and chocolate. I'll get to taste it tomorrow as it's now chilling in the fridge but I had to post because it looks to yummy.

prom cake

I made this cake for my mother's school prom. They wanted a classic cake with a splash of color. I love the black and white with this pink, this pink is amazing. I also added some gun paste roses and leaves with a hint of silver sparkle.

Introduction: Cathy's Cake Adventure's

So my family has come up with a great idea for me, they tell me I need to start logging my cake designs.  I've started selling them here and there but this is not a business, think of it more as an adventure with the randomness of cash thrown at me.  Which let's face it no one can complain about cash being thrown at them because then that's just silly.  I've been making cakes for a while.  I just like to be creative, don't get me wrong though because I am in no way a professional and just do this for fun when people ask me for cakes.  Here are some very, very old pictures, I went total vintage on this because I went way back searching for pictures of my earlier cakes.  As you can see I definitely think I start to progress the further along I get.

This is just a strawberry cake with well duh strawberries, and then two large cupcakes, I mean large.

I couldn't figure out how to make these the right way but it was Cinderalla themed birthday.

These I'm really proud of, it's a cake a made for two friends, one is a fashionista cake with animal print and the other is a keg with a shot glass.  So much fun.

These are both Candy themed cakes, the first was a Candyland cake for my daughter's birthday and the other is a Candy cake for a school prom.

This one is super old I think it was my first attempt with fondant and I chose a square cake, what was wrong with me?  But it was supposed to be like a present with a bow on top.  mind you at this time I hadn't taken any Wilton Cake decorating classes yet so this is all me, not bad I guess lol.

This was a princess cake I did for my oldest daughter when she turned 2 I believe.  It was also a long time ago since she is now about to be 8 this year.

There are many more pictures floating around somewhere.  Maybe I'll post them somewhere but for the time being I will be updating with recent pictures.

My name is Cathy and these are the cakes that I have created whether from inspiration in my mind or the loveliness of Google search either way I made them myself.  Fondant as an interesting thing to work with and you can come up with so many different variations.
